Having identified where the issues were, Sampson Hall designed a bespoke cohesion package to improve the players performance and awareness on the pitch. They also designed a business development package for the club's Head of Performance and Business Manager.

The cohesion package consisted of a two day survival experience which really brought the team together in a unique environment. The planning package was delivered to the management team and reviewed regularly throughout the season. At the end of the season the club was one of the very few in Rugby League free from debt and making a profit. Whilst the performance on the field was less fruitful the team cohesion and development hold much promise for the future particularly with some of the youngsters coming through the academy.

The business package was designed to return the club to profit and establish procedures and proceses thet would guarantee a profitable future and generate further internal investment. Sampson Hall mentored the Board through the process.

The Results 

Gateshead Thunder went from a club in Administration with a large debt and a 9 point deduction to a club with a turnover of £350,000 with a profit margin of £15,000 for investment next season
